A bit from Great Britain

So after having an awesome flight into London and being offered tea almost every half hour, I barely made it into the country!  Got to immigration and long story short, I was asked about a zillion questions from the Immigration Officer....thank God the lady finally stamped my passport.  Probably the best passport stamp of my life!  Thinking that I'm in the clear, I then soon find out that the London Underground Railway is on strike! ARE YOU SERIOUS? But anyways, finally made it in2 the city...and after spending a few days in London, eating some fish and chips, drinking A LOT of tea, and of course upsetting a lot of the locals because I was the slow tourist, walking the streets during rush hour, taking pictures and getting in everyone's way, I decided it was time to head to Scotland.
But Scotland of course meant, back to living out of a van.  Although, THIS van was pretty decked out.... a built in kitchen, recessed lighting, and not to mention a black light.

Our lil home for a week
While the van was running well (and yes that does mean that it eventually broke down on us) we were able to make our way around a fair amount of the country.   We also headed up to the Orkney Islands and went on the World's shortest scheduled flight!

Celebrating w/our certificates :)

Tiniest airport ever...aka a shack

After sleeping in a van for about a week, it may or may not have caused us to stoop to some new lows...such as eating hot dogs from a can. And getting extremely excited to go into Mcdonalds on a saturday night to "hang out." Aka relax somewhere other than a van and use the nice bathrooms. :)  But I will be honest...the hot dogs out of the can actually did taste pretty good...or maybe i wuz just really hungry.  :)

The scenery in Scotland is pretty sick...from mountains to lochs, beaches and castles galore....

Sam pretending it wuz his castle
Eileen Donan castle...and my umbrella wasn't working

My dad told me about an airplane crash site at a lake in Scotland and that my Grandpa's brother had been on that flight, so we decided that we needed to have a look for ourselves.  Gotta follow ur ancestors right?  The airplane had gotten lost on it's way back home from WWII and of course I'm related to the Navigator of the plane... No wonder my sense of direction isn't the greatest...must run in the family...

       Plane crash site

Navigator Robak...got the plane lost...yikes.
Enjoying the scenery....and a beer

I'm not sure if many of you have heard of the Lochness Monster, but we went out searching for it and of course we saw it, but the camera just couldn't get it, ya know?  :)

After two weeks in Scotland, eating haggis, a lot of mars bars, scotch pies, and trying to understand their "English" language, cheers to a lovely lil Scottish family that made me feel so welcome.  :)
